Description
Ever gazed up at the moon and wondered why it was there, what it is, and how can I see more? If you have, then why not come and join Dark Sky Wales? Our new Lunar experience will take you closer than you’ve ever been before. You’ll explore the mountains (highlands), oceans (Maria), and craters on the surface using telescopes and binoculars. Go further and take pictures to look back at during those rainy days.
Our team will explain how the moon formed and why it is essential to life on Earth. You’ll explore the scientific discoveries, missions to the moon and its cultural significance.
The experience lasts for 1.5 hours and is weather-dependent. Our team will be in touch during the week leading up to your experience and provide weather forecasts daily to give you a final go-ahead decision 48 hours beforehand. If the weather is inclement, we will provide you with a replacement voucher, allowing you to rebook your experience for another night.
There is a critical change to our experience due to building works. This change involves using our warm room, which we cannot safely use currently. As such, the experience is now due to cancellation and rescheduling in the event of inclement weather. We will be able to give you 48 hours notice of this eventuality and will be in touch about a week before.
